Gay Imam Murdered in South Africa

There are time when I worry that my rhetoric against Islam might be a little harsh. In the past, I have made some pretty strong claims. I’ve said that the vast Majority of Muslims view the West, and the subsequent moral progress we’ve made, as anathema to them. While there are those who preach forgiveness and love, in truth they are the minority. For every Imam that teaches about love, there are 10 who espouse hate. If you don’t believe me, simply type “Imam sermon”, and behold, countless stories about the horrible things these religious leaders say. For instance, in Victoria, one leader said that Jews spread corruption through the land. If that sounds familiar, it should. These sentiments are perfect echoes of the Nazi regime.

There are still those deluded fools who think they can reform this perverse religion from the inside. One such person went by the name of Muhsin Hendricks. Hendricks was the first openly gay imam, who was operating out of South Africa. He was killed a few weeks ago by an as yet unidentified gunman. My guess is people in the Muslim community are aware of who the guilty party is, and they will absolutely keep his identity a secret, as I’m sure many consider him a hero.

Senior lecturer in Islamic Studies at South Africa’s University of the Western Cape, Dr Fatima Essop, reflected on the “distressing” vitriolic content circulating on social media in the wake of Hendricks’ killing.

“I just find that completely shocking and so far removed from our… Islamic tradition, which is all about compassion and mercy and preservation of human life,” she told the BBC.

Compassion you say? I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but a few people preaching love does not negate the far more numerous imams that preach hatred. In fact, I would venture to say that there are more violent and hateful rhetoric these days than calls for compassion and empathy. There’s something sinister about the way in which religions condone violence and hatred that boggles the mind of those that are not in these death cults.

I find it even more outrageous that there are still groups in the West that support Muslims no matter what they preach. Gays for Palestine, or other such groups, fail to understand that the very heart of Islam is one of profound animosity towards people of different sexual orientation. You simply cannot trust those who are naturally good and compassionate to protect you against those who are not. They often go to the same mosques, and sit side by side. When push comes to shove, they will choose to stand next to these monsters rather than face the wrath of their own community. It should tell you everything you need to know about what side they are really on.

I would hope that this is a wakeup call for people of the LGBT community, but my guess is that it will be ignored, like so many other disgusting abuses. Politically, it’s too inconvenient to point out the fact that Islam is still stuck in the 15th century, with no hope of ever reforming towards something more compatible with modern society. Until we all realize the danger this horrid religion poses, the people we love and support are in danger, just like Hendricks was by simply existing.
