It seems to me that religions have a big “abuse” problem. Not only do they continually recruit morally reprehensible characters into their fold, they also do them a service by covering up their crimes, and providing financial and moral support to monsters that destroy the lives of children. Usually they also employ fear mongering tactics to vilify minority groups and convince their flock that the real predators are “out there”, and not already in their homes and churches just waiting for their opportunity to strike.
Such is the case with Kevin Robert Christensen, who was arrested last week on charges of child exploitation and human trafficking. It seems as though Christensen had a habit of messaging underage kids, and having disturbing sexually explicit conversations with them. In some conversations, he admitted to abusing children that were related to him. The police have arrested him, and this monster is waiting for his day in court.
“The position of trust he holds in the community and the actions he undertook while in this position significantly undermine the confidence of the community in the legitimacy of the criminal justice system,” the report said.
I’m sure during the trial, he will claim to be a “good Mormon”, and there will undoubtedly be many in the community that jump to his defense. This is all part of their M.O. They put their religion above all others, including in some cases their own offspring. This is why I’ve said repeatedly that religions don’t help families stay together. If anything, they create ideological divides which are often irreconcilable.
If all religions were honest, they would admit that the faith is more important than the family. For these deluded fools, what happens to you after you die is infinitely more important than what happens when you live. This is why all faiths are, at their heart, death cults that suck you into their orbit.
